Lukas 1:71

1:71 that we should be saved ¹  from our enemies, ² 

and from the hand of all who hate us.

Lukas 6:9

6:9 Then ³  Jesus said to them, “I ask you, ⁴  is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save a life or to destroy it?”

Lukas 7:50

7:50 He ⁵  said to the woman, “Your faith ⁶  has saved you; ⁷  go in peace.”

[1:71]  ² sn The theme of being saved from our enemies is like the release Jesus preached in Luke 4:18-19. Luke’s narrative shows that one of the enemies in view is Satan and his cohorts, with the grip they have on humanity.

[6:9]  ³ tn Here δέ (de) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the narrative.

[6:9]  ⁴ sn With the use of the plural pronoun (“you”), Jesus addressed not just the leaders but the crowd with his question to challenge what the leadership was doing. There is irony as well. As Jesus sought to restore on the Sabbath (but improperly according to the leaders’ complaints) the leaders were seeking to destroy, which surely is wrong. The implied critique recalls the OT: Isa 1:1-17; 58:6-14.
